The Waunakee Community School District is excited to launch its first-ever Community Musical Instrument Drive this fall.

As participation in our music programs continues to grow, we are looking for gently used band and orchestra instruments that can be placed directly into the hands of students. This year, Waunakee Intermediate School will have its most instrumental music students ever.  We want to remove any barriers we can so every interested student has the opportunity to participate.

Many families have instruments tucked away in closets or basements that are no longer being used. By donating them, you can help provide more students with the opportunity to participate in music education.

Instrument Drop-Off

Monday, August 24 - Wednesday, August 26
8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Waunakee Intermediate School, 6273 Woodland Drive, Waunakee

Wednesday, August 26 - Waunakee Intermediate School Open House

Representatives from Ward-Brodt Music will be on-site to evaluate donated instruments and provide estimated values and documentation for donation receipts.

What we Are Looking For

We welcome gently used band and orchestra instruments in playable condition. The purpose of the drive is to help increase our supply of school owned instruments for students in need of instruments typically acquired by families: flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, trombone, violin, viola, cello.

We would also be interested in other band or orchestra instruments, but they would be used as school instruments for any students.  We are not interested in pianos, organs, or other non band or orchestra instruments.

Every donated instrument will help expand access to music education for Waunakee students and support our growing instrumental music programs.  The school district will work with Ward-Brodt to make sure that all instruments are cleaned and put in playable conditions.  Instruments donated to the district that are beyond repair may be traded in.  Professional quality and “step-up” instruments may be allocated for more advanced students.

Thank you for considering a donation and for helping ensure that every student has the opportunity to experience the joy of making music.
